What to Expect @ FBC

7 Common Questions

1. What makes this church unique?

First Baptist is specifically a church geared toward those who have serious questions about God’s role in their life. First Baptist is here to help you connect with God and to learn how to GROW in that relationship. We have set in place structures to help everyone grow in this spiritual journey whether you’re a skeptic just checking things out or someone who has been walking with Jesus for many years. We offer our Community Service on Sunday mornings as a starting point (Children’s Church for those k-3), Bible Academy (a.k.a Sunday School), and Growth Groups through the week for real learning at each stage in the journey.

2. What should I wear?

Be comfortable! Casual to business casual clothes are the norm at First Baptist, but we encourage people to wear whatever is comfortable for them and will help them prepare their hearts to listen to the teaching. It’s not the clothes that really matter, it’s the heart – so come dressed to listen. – And don’t worry! You’ll fit in!

3. How long will the worship service last?

The Sunday morning service is an engaging 75 – 80 minutes!

4. What can I expect inside?

When you first arrive you will be warmly greeted.  We invite you to enjoy the snacks and beverages located on the table next to the entrance to the sanctuary.  When you enter the sanctuary there will be someone to give you a worship bulletin and you are welcome to take your beverage and snack and sit anywhere.

5. What will the service be like?

Our services consist of a comfortable blend of contemporary and traditional music, prayer, and verse by verse study through the Bible.  First Baptist enjoys a diverse blend of people from all walks of life, and of all ages, who desire to grow in their love for God and in their love for people.

6. Will I have to give anything?

No! But we do offer you the opportunity to fill out a connection card so we can serve you. Giving us any information about you is optional.

As our guest you are not expected to give. The weekly offering supports the work of Christ at First Baptist, in our community, and around the world through our various mission efforts. This worship ministry is for our members and regular attendees.

7. What about my kids – do they come into the service with me or is there something going on for them?

Our children’s ministry, provides an exciting experience for children through grade three. When you arrive your children will join you for the song portion of the service. Just before the message there will be an announcement to inform you that you may release your children to Children’s church.  In Children’s Church your children will be challenged to grow in love for God and in their love for people. If you desire for your children to stay with you to hear the message, they are welcome to stay.

Nursery service is provided for infants and toddlers.
